VINCENNES, Ind. – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced their 2021-22 All-Academic Teams Monday afternoon and the list of nearly 10,000 student-athletes featured 18 Vincennes University Trailblazers. VU had five student-athletes named to the All-Academic First Team, earning a GPA of 4.00 during the 2021-22 academic year. Four student-athletes named to the Second Team, with a GPA between 3.80 and 3.99 and nine named to the Third Team with a GPA between 3.60 and 3.79. Vincennes University and the VU Athletic Department are proud of the hard work and dedication these student-athletes have shown not only on the competition field, but in the classroom as well.

MT. CARMEL, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team closed out the road portion of their 2022 Spring regular season Tuesday afternoon, taking the short trip down to face NJCAA Division I No. 3-ranked Wabash Valley. The Warriors jumped out ahead early and held on as Vincennes fell by the final score of 11-1. Wabash Valley jumped on the scoreboard early and in a big way in the first inning, scoring five runs in the first and adding an additional run in the second to take an early 6-0 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team opened their four-game Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series Sunday afternoon by splitting the first two games with Parkland College at Jerry Blemker Field. The Trailblazers took game one over the Cobras 7-4 behind yet another really great pitching performance behind sophomore Connor VanLannen (Clinton, Ind.). Parkland battled back to take game two in comeback fashion, winning 7-5 over Vincennes.

ALTON, Ill. – VU sophomore center fielder Colin Long (Evansville, Ind.) broke a 7-7 tie in game four of Vincennes’ four-game Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series at Lewis & Clark with a solo home run in the eighth inning to help give VU a 9-7 win to close out the series. Vincennes fell in the first game of the day 5-0 before battling back to take game two 9-7 and coming home with a 2-2 series split. Lewis & Clark wasted little time in game one of the day, scoring three runs in the first and adding another run in the second to take a 4-0 early lead.

ROBINSON, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team took a short trip north to Robinson for another mid-week showdown with the Statesmen Tuesday afternoon. Vincennes gave up one big inning to host Lincoln Trail, where three fielding errors led to a big six-run inning for the Statesmen. VU attempted a comeback but ultimately fell short as Lincoln Trail came away with the 12-7 win.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team closed out their weekend Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) series with Illinois Central College Saturday afternoon at Jerry Blemker Field. Vincennes took game one of the day after falling behind 10-4 in the sixth inning before rallying back to win 11-10. ICC took game two of the day to close out the weekend 9-1. Illinois Central grabbed the momentum early to begin game one, scoring four runs in the first inning.

NORMAL, Ill. – The Vincennes University baseball team fell in the first two games of their four-game weekend Mid-West Athletic Conference series at Heartland Community College, falling 11-2 in game one and 13-3 in game two. Vincennes got the scoring started in game one, with a single by sophomore Colin Long (Evansville, Ind.) and a double by sophomore Peyton Lane (New Paris, Ohio) helped give the Trailblazers the early 2-0 lead. Heartland would be held off the scoreboard until the third inning, when the Hawks took the lead with a four-run inning.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Trailblazer baseball team finished off their Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) bye week with a showdown against NJCAA Division I Kaskaskia College at Jerry Blemker Field Tuesday night and dropped the nine-inning game 13-6. The Trailblazers looked to get a few players back from injuries and get their bullpen ready for a four-game conference series against Heartland College this weekend. The Blue Devils jumped out to a big early lead after scoring three runs in the first, three runs in the second and two in the third to take an 8-0 lead.

FAIRFIELD, Ill. – The Vincennes University Trailblazers are taking advantage of their Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) bye week with four straight games against NJCAA Division I opponents, beginning with a two-game set with Frontier Community College. VU traveled to Fairfield, Ill. Saturday afternoon to take part in a single nine-inning game as part of a two-game home-and-home series with the Bobcats. The host Bobcats got off to a hot start, scoring four runs in the first inning, including getting three runs in the first three pitches of the game.

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team began a stretch of five games in six days against four different teams Thursday afternoon by picking up a big 12-5 road win at Oakland City University. Vincennes got the scoring started early, plating three runs in the first on four-straight singles by freshman Colton Evans (Henderson, Ky.), sophomores Connor VanLannen (Clinton, Ind.), Dale Coy (Evansville, Ind.) and freshman Jordan Roth (Delphi, Ind.). Oakland City would rally back to even the score with a run in the first and two in the second, before Vincennes again grabbed the lead when VanLannen got a one-out single in the third and came around to score on a wild pitch.

VINCENNES, Ind. – VU sophomore Connor VanLannen threw a seven-inning complete game Saturday afternoon to help give the Trailblazers a split of the first two games of a four-game series with NJCAA Division II No. 14-ranked Lincoln Land College. The Loggers took game one over Vincennes 12-3 before VU battled back in game two to win 9-5. Game one of this Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) doubleheader got off to a slow start, with neither offense able to get a run across in the first two innings.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball season is getting into full swing at Jerry Blemker Field as the Trailblazers hosted Morton College and Joliet Junior College Sunday, Feb. 27 and Monday Feb. 28. Vincennes came away with a 1-2 record over the three-game set, after dropping the first two 10-5 and 10-3 to Morton and Joliet on Sunday, before coming back Monday to win 7-2 over Joliet. The three-game home weekend started with the Trailblazers hosting Morton College from Cicero, Ill.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team completed the four-game sweep of opening weekend at Jerry Blemker Field Monday by defeating Ancilla College 10-2 and South Suburban 3-1. The Trailblazers began their day against the Ancilla Chargers and wasted little time jumping out to a quick lead in the first inning. Sophomore Connor VanLannen (Clinton, Ind.) came through with a two RBI single which gave VU the early 2-0 lead.

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University baseball team began their Spring 2022 home season at Jerry Blemker Field with a pair of wins over Ancilla and South Suburban. The Trailblazers won 15-5 in six innings over Ancilla before taking game two 8-7 over the South Suburban Bulldogs on a walk-off sac fly by freshman Nick Kapostasy (Cincinnati, Ohio). In the first game of the day, the Ancilla Chargers struck first, scoring in the top of the first on game one starter Braedon Nichols (Sullivan, Ind.)
