Trailblazer Bowling season ends at USBC Sectionals
SMYRNA, Tenn. – The 2024-25 Vincennes University Bowling season came to a close over the weekend at the 2025 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Sectional Championships in Smyrna, Tenn. The busy bowling weekend began Friday with the Singles Championships, consisting of six traditional games. Sophomore Dakota Waskom (Louisville, Ky.) paced the Trailblazers Friday in the singles competition, finishing his six games with 1,255 pins to take 50th overall.
SMYRNA, Tenn. – The 2024-25 Vincennes University Bowling season came to a close over the weekend at the 2025 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Sectional Championships in Smyrna, Tenn.
The busy bowling weekend began Friday with the Singles Championships, consisting of six traditional games.
Sophomore Dakota Waskom (Louisville, Ky.) paced the Trailblazers Friday in the singles competition, finishing his six games with 1,255 pins to take 50th overall.
Freshmen Ryan Webber (Evansville, Ind.) and Colton Martin (Breese, Ill.) were also in the top 100 finishers, with Webber posting a total of 1,202 pins in 78th and Martin taking 89th overall with 1,168 pins.
Sophomores Nick Gregg (Salem, Ill.), Ethan Ennis (Kokomo, Ind.) and senior Brighton Lucas (Salem, Ill.) highlighted the next group of Trailblazer finishers.
Gregg placed 103rd overall with 1,151 pins. Ennis took 109th with 1,141 and Lucas posted 1,132 pins to take 112th overall.
Freshman Carter Martin (Breese, Ill.) took 121st overall with 1,124 pins, while freshmen Jonathan Soderling (Vincennes, Ind.) and Tad Harvey (Indianapolis, Ind.) finished with Soderling posting a score of 1,086 in 136th and Harvey taking 140th at 1,072 pins.
Sophomore Dylan Lewis (Louisville, Ky.) took 146th overall with 1,062 pins and freshman Zane Anderson (Lafayette, Ind.) placed 154th overall with 1,035 pins.
Junior Carson McDivitt (Richmond, Ind.) and freshman Hunter Meyer (Morgantown, Ind.) rounded out the Trailblazer scorers Friday in singles competition, with McDivitt finishing with 977 pins in 161st overall and Meyer finishing with 755 pins in 174th place overall.
The Trailblazers then returned to the lanes Saturday morning for the first of two days of team competition.
The team portion of the weekend consisted of 64 baker games, split into four flights of 16 games each over two days.
The Trailblazers opened the team portion with a total of 2,897 pins in the first 16 baker games before moving up the leaderboard to close out day one with a score of 3,125 in flight two, moving up to 12th place overall at the midway point.
Vincennes looked to keep climbing Sunday on the final day of competition, finishing flight three with 3,025 pins but unfortunately slid back a bit with a 2,898 score in flight four.
The Trailblazers finished out the team portion of the weekend with 11,945 pins, placing 15th overall.
The Vincennes University bowling team and VU Head Coach Paul LeMond wrap up a successful 2024-25 season and will look to continue to build towards the future as the Trailblazers get set to return to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) next season.
